Selling to Michigan government: Contract Connect and state vendor registration
State of Michigan Procurement runs Contract Connect for vendors. MDOT highway work is let separately.
State of Michigan Procurement, part of the Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB), manages Contract Connect, its website for vendors interested in doing business with the state, and explains how to become a State of Michigan vendor.
Construction
MDOT highway projects are let through MDOT's BidLetting site and require MDOT prequalification (see how to bid MDOT contracts). Public contracts over $50,000 require payment and performance bonds under MCL 129.201.
Local work
Michigan cities, counties, road commissions and school districts advertise their own bids.
